Not only am I awake, but i am wide awake and there are no sheep or counting crows that can put theses eyes to rest. I hate not being able to sleep, but then again I am not a fan of the chemical induced sleep eiither. This insommia bug seems to be bitting more then ever lately as all the things that are happening in my personal or work life come to front and unfold daily. Insommia, on the other hand is something that can be useful too! It can be a great study time, since there is nothing and I mean nothing on TV between the hours 230am and 430am. Then the morning news and all the world is coming awake, to start their new day. I on the other hand have slept may 30 mins to 3 hours depending on the night and how bad the bug is bitting at my toes.

Yet, I am able to go 3 maybe 4 days with little to no sleep at all then by the 5th day all seems to crash, and that restful, peaceful sleep tends to find me and take me off to the land of dreams if I am so lucky. Pleastville bound in the world of dreams and rest for all. But, then again my mind won't stop or even if I can truely clear my mind I am not able to drift off to the clouds of neverland, because the insommina bug is there at my toes reminding me that tonight is a night that you stay up and sleep is just not allowed.

I have heard it said that warm milk, prayer, reading a text book on a subject that one just dreads will put one to to sleep. Nope, all they do is bore me to tears, and yet the milk is not an option either, unless I want a day of running to the bathroom from drinking one glass. So here we are, at 3am and not a care in the world, and not a bit tired tonight.

I have heard that it is during this time that God is trying to get our attention. Well, he has my full attention, since sleep is not going to visit me tonight. Now if I can figure out what I am supposed to be praying for or whom I am to pray for that too would be a blessing. I have sat here night after night and poured in God's word looking for the answers on pleasent slumber. I found the scriptures, claimed them as my own, and come to realize that it is in these wee am hours that I am longing for the Heavenly Fathers touch, a word from His heart. Something that will draw me in close to the holy of holies. In that place were there is nothing in the room but me and the Father or Jesus. A time where I draw unto Him, and He unto I, where I am totally encompassed in His love, joy, and peace! A place that one can only go when they press on in prayer, worship and seeking the face of the Lord. Yes, I have insommina and I miss my sleep, but I long for the wee hours of the morning where I am encompassed in the love of the Lord, where I feel His presence all around, and His arms there hold me is better then any night of sleep!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-85620658340434748262012-08-20T22:08:00.000-05:002012-08-20T22:08:26.956-05:00Bad DayHave you ever had a bad day? A day when it seems like you are coming apart at the seams, and not all at once mind you, but rather a slow and steady unraveling as the day progresses. A day when everything is happening and you are stuck by anxiety. Now the anxiety is new and all of a sudden decided to bcome your best friend today and when ever it decides to show up, like at work, home, school, family time. Then all you want to do is hide under a rock and be left alone.

We all have bad days, and yes, some are wirse then others, but they do happen and to us all. The difference is that some of us have Jesus on our side. When this day progressess we can call out to him for HELP! Or Scream HELP if it matters all the same, God is there listening to the suttle whisper in the wind or the scream at the top of our lungs. He is there and can hear and is willing to listen at the times when we are in need of Him and His comfort, guidence and in all the stress or anxiety as it swarms around us like mad.

He is there at just a whisper of a prayer. He comes to His children who are called His beloved. He is there becasue He promises all us us who have come to know Him, that he will never leave nor forsake us. He gentleness is there, His love, His Peace and come along with the Joy in the morning. That Joy can even come at 3am if that is when it is needed. He gives us all His comfort and love without restriction, without rules or regulations. It is a love and a peace that is freely given to us because we are His beloved children and we belong to Him!

So when that day comes and all you want to do is hide under a rock and scream at the top of your lungs. Do you and call out to Jesus and He will be there with you in the middle of the storm and will comfort you and you will find that joy and peace that often comes in the morning!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-7315365445970327472012-08-19T22:52:00.001-05:002012-08-19T22:53:17.241-05:00It's been a While.....Wow, It has been a long time since I have posted, and the things that life tends to throw at you when you are not lookinng is amazing. From the frequent hospital stays to the true craziness that is happening at work, I'm not sure where to even start. Other then to say I am happy that I have a great Husband (@wschorp) and an amazing God to see me through all the rough patches.

It is during these times that we learn that we all have to rely on God's graces in our daily lives. It is when we scream why now, and question so much that is happening that we need to turn to the Father in Heaven and seek His face and His True Guidance in the times of need and trouble. It is when we look to God to hold our hand, and walk the path that we are on, even through it is a rough patch. Yet, after the storms there is joy in the morning and that Joy is Great.

His Joy is that of a true joy! One that no man or thing can steal from us because it comes from our walk with the Father in Heaven. It is a Joy that is not able to be described until you are there sitting with the Lord in that time of Prayer, Praise or just plain ole quiet time with Him. It may happen as you read a passage in the Bible that just speaks to your heart and you find that word of knowledge to move forward in that Joy that is deep within you that no man can steal. That Joy that is from God is the best Joy and it always come new to you and I in the morning!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-13678074641907625912011-12-19T18:01:00.000-06:002011-12-19T18:01:10.340-06:00Christmas DistractionsDistractions, distractions are every where this time of the year. There is Elf, Sants Clause Coming to Town, Happy Holidays and all the other movies and songs that focus our attention on Christmas, yet the meaning is left to fly away in the wind. There are more distractions as you walk into the stores, holiday music, yes even the lovely holiday / Christmas music they play while shopping is used to distracted you in the store. By playing Christmas / Holiday music in stores it has shown to increase sales, because you will buy more when and pick up one more gift.

Yet, as we wonder through out the day, and see the trees, all the lights and decorations of Santa that are placed through out the town, we are distracted form the true gift of Christmas. As we go about the day and take that routnie drive afer dark to see how the neighbors in town have decorated or into downtown to see the spectular tree and window fronts that are only up this time of year, we lose the true meaning of Christmas.

We as a society are distracted, we hustle and bustle, and go about our day without taking the time to stop and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is so eay to be distracted in our daily life that it is easy to put the true meaning of Christmas aside and just focus on Santa Clause. Afterall, we have to get the tree, decorate it, hang the stocking with care, decorate the house, shop, wrap gift, make lists, watch the budget, decorate the rewst of the house inside and out, and send the lovely Christmas cards. There is so much that takes our attention along with having to hide all the gifts from little eyes that are peering into the closets to find those special things that are stashed away for Christmas morning.

Ever wonder what it feels like to God when our life becomes so full of distractions that we come to ignore him on a daily basis. How He feels when His dear children come to Him only on Sunday morning or when there is a need in their lives. Ever wonder if it hurts Him deep within as He sits and watches you struggle daily with all those distractions that are occuring. As He sits there wanting to give you the peace and Love that you seek as you wrap, and decorate the house to celebrate the birth of his only Son, Jesus Christ. How a simple prayer is so effective that He hears every word and knows your every need and is wanting to provide if you would only take the time to talk to Him.

It is so easy to become so distracted that we lose God in our daily lives, not just at Christmas time but all year. How we busy ourselves and then fall into bed wanting to pray but would rather sleep those extra ten minutes then talk to our Lord and Savior. YEt, we long for God to be at home in our heart, but we get so distracted that we forget to open the front door. When all it takes is saying a simple prayer, reading a small Bible passage at home, in the car or on our mobile phones. May we all take the time this Christmas season to reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, out one true Lord and Savior!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-90487181038004796422011-12-12T12:13:00.002-06:002011-12-12T12:25:59.365-06:00Holiday TragedyChristmas is approaching and it is coming rather quickly, especially if you have done any shopping at all. Yet, during the holidays we all tend to focus on the hustle and bustle of the season. The buying, wrapping of gifts and some even focus on the true meaning of Christmas which is the birth of Jesus. But what would you do if something terrible happened to you or your loved one during this time of year?

All of a sudden the shopping and hustle and bustle seems to fade. Then we stop and reflect upon our family more, we stop and take the time to cherish every person in our life and what they bring to us. It is in these moments near the holidays and tragedy happens that we want to run and hide. We can run, but it won't change what has happened to that individual. All we can do is be there for support and love them. Yet, we are able to do so much more.

We can PRAY! Prayer is able to change all things. When the doctor's are saying there is little to no hope or that it is a bleak situation we can run to God. We pour out our prayers to Jesus, and ask His hands to heal the situation and the person. Then we wait, we wait for the miracle to happen. We believe that God is near and that He loves all His children. He would not want us to suffer or be afraid in the times of tragedy. It is in those very moments we cry out and His arms are open wide.

We pray, and pray some more. We then seek out all the prayer warriors that we know to pray for what is going on. We have extreme faith in those moments of need, yet, the rest of time we believe just not as strongly as when we may want something from God. This indeed is a sad statement, we run to God only when we are afraid, and need Him to do a miracle! The rest of the year we travel through the days, weeks, months, and go about our day without a second thought of what God wants from us or wants us to be doing in our life.

If we pray through the good times and thank God for all that we have no matter how small, He will be willing to give us so much more. If we run to Him when things are only sideways and expect Him to show up, then ignore Him the rest of the year, what kind of Children are we? Are we the type of people that only call a friend when we are in need, or want something? Or we call to say Hello and check in to see how their life is going, to share with them the good and the bad. God, is there and is always near. He sits and waits daily for you to talk to Him. He is there tugging at your heart as we go through the days and the hustle of preparing for Christmas.

The question is if something was to happen, would you call out to God for healing, guidance or would you rely on the what the doctors are saying and wait to see what will happen. If we reach out and continue to reach out and know that God's hands are near, holding all close to His heart, that His angels are all around all the time would you act or say the same things, knowing God is sitting in the room with you?

God performs miracles and Shows his Healing power on a daily basis. He is there in the ICU with the patient on the vent, the one struggling to hang onto life as we know it. He is there in the middle of it all, the question is are you willing to let Him be a part of all that is going on or do we handle it all on our own? His healing power is near, and praying, talking to God works, I know first hand. I've seen God heal when they shouldn't have lived through the night. He is a Big God and He is near. Reach out and take the hand of the one who came to earth to love and heal you!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-84115113414635092652011-11-28T11:49:00.001-06:002011-11-28T11:51:23.455-06:00Lost the Christmas Joy?So Christmas is around the corner and all the hustle and bustle is upon us. Yet, some have lost that Christmas cheer! It's become a chore to get out the door, let alone be happy about the Christmas season! It's a great day and friends, family, food but that joy seems to be lost somewhere in the flood of decorations that are everywhere ! You can't walk into a store without seeing something of Christmas, stocking and Santa !

Yet, the blues have settled into your heart and there. Is just no more room for all that Christmas joy! All you want is to get through the days and make it into the next year, cause good things will be there in the days to come. So can we just skip all the joy and move right on to the new year?

Sadly, no! We have to go to mass and church and hear about the joy and the true gift of Christmas! We go back to God in theses times when all our joy is lost to find hope once again! It is in Christ that we have hope, live and true joy! All others are superficial and will let you down. Any other joy is just a temporary fix and will fade! Yet that joy from the Lord is always present. It's there when you are blue, green or any other color. It tends to be masked by things of the world when we are caught up in everything but God ! When we lose sight of Him and who we are in Him that our joy tends to fade and we focus solely on worldly things!

We children of the Lord we are able to have the security and the love of the Lord; along with His joy at all times in our lives. We know that His live and guidance will help us through all circumstances when we cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel! His light is there and if we reach out and take His hand he will guide us to that never ending love and joy that only He can give! It's a joy and love that will guide you through all things.

So as we walk into this Christmas season we are able to reach out and find the hand of God there waiting to show you the joy of the season. More the. Giving and receiving gifts, rather the joy of the the Lord in the birth of Jesus! In Him we have love and joy that will never cease if we are willing to reach out and take His hand to walk with Him this Christmas season.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-91955244929703269582011-11-27T17:59:00.001-06:002011-11-27T18:34:53.968-06:004 WeeksThere is a whole 4 weeks until we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is the most wonderful time of the year. A time of sharing and giving and some recieving of wonderous gifts. Yet, it is the most hetic time of the year as well. It is a time when we all rush to accomplish all that we need to do beofre Christmas eve or Christmas Day. A time when we find all of our time is taken up by cleaning, shopping, baking, writing out cards, mailing presents to those who are not near during this time of the year. Yet, there is more to Christmas and these four weeks then we realize.

It is in these four weeks that we begin to really prepare our hearts to recieve the love of the Heavenly Father and that of His gift of Jesus. In this time we should be seeking God in an more intimate manner as we are preparing to celebrate his vigin birth into the world and all that it has to offer us as Christians. It is during this time that we are able to reach out to those who are in need, hurting and really share that Love of Jesus with them. Christmas can be a hard day for many individuals and families who are hurting and are afraid to show that deep hurt and pain. By showing them the Love and that gift if Jesus we can share with them a piece of our heart and a part of our joy that is always within us because of the Hope that Jesus brings to our lives. We have this joy because of that personal relationship that we have with Jesus, and knowing He is there when we cal or cry out to Him!

It is in these four weeks that we are so wrapped up in the presents, baking, cooking and others things that we have to do to fully prepare the family and home for the glorous day that we often overlook so many things. We often forget that there are famlies out there that are really struggling to make ends meet, or if there children get a gift at all it will be a miracle because right now all they are focusing on is keeping them in there home. We can be a blessing to them and so many others in Christmas season. We can pick one of the tags off the tree at the mall, in the church and bless that child, adult or family in a manner that they would not be able to do on their own. We can get that tag and find a gift, but what if we blessed them in a manner that they would not expect, if they ask for a coat, get the gloves, scarf and hat that goes with it. Pick up a couple of extra outfits if the child needs clothes, you don't know long long they have to last that child and it could be close to a year before they get something new. Or when you buy that barbiew get some accessories that go with it. That child will be blessed and so happy on Christmas morning because you took the time to give to them. We can give to those in the parish as well, the sisters and priest who work so hard to keep things running smoothly at the church year round and never ask for a thing in return. They rarely get a thank you, or positive feedback. Take the time bake an extra set of cookies for them, or pick up a gift card for something you know they like. If you are unsure take the time to email the church office and ask what cookies, brownies or what their favorite store is and bless them in that way to say thank you for their service to you all year.

By giving of ourself to others, God takes notice. He sees when we are there helping those in need, and will give that blessing back to us in ways that we could never expect. By giving to those who have less, those who are hurting by giving them time to talk to you, you are giving them a piece of God's hope and love. We are after all His children, and we are to reach out and help those who are in need. If we know of a need and cannot meet it, help them get in touch with others who can guide them in the right direction, and take the time to call them and see how they are doing during this wonderous time of the year. It is amazing to see how much one can belss others in these 4 weeks if we take the time to reach out to those around us.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-19670625430685308152011-11-26T19:29:00.000-06:002011-11-28T13:10:42.295-06:00The HolidaysIt is a joyous time of year. A time when the holidays are upon us and we look forward to spending time with those that we love. It is when we take the time when we decorate and celebrate the Holidays. There seems to be a spring in our step as we prepare to celebrate family and friends. When we all come together, and share with one another freely.
It is more than the Holidays though, it is Christmas time, a time in today’s society that has become more about the last minute shopping, Santa, hanging of stocking by the fire place, putting the new wreath on the door. Oh and don't forget the lights. We put the lights on the trees, bushes and on the outside of the house as well. The nativity scene that we set beneath the Christmas tree to help remind us what it exactly we are celebrating. We spend so much time preparing, baking and shopping, wrapping, cleaning that it is easy to lose the real meaning of Christmas.

Christmas is a time of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. It is a time when we give thanks to our Heavenly Father for the gift of His son Jesus. When we sit at church / mass and listen to story of how Jesus is born, the wonder of the marvelous story of a virgin giving birth and a man willing to marry her even though she was with child prior to any relations. Something that was nearly unheard of was a man that would stand at her side proudly. It is a story of a gift that was given to all of us.

Christmas is about us celebrating His birth, where we take the time to give a small piece of ourselves to another in a form of a gift. The time that we put into the selection and wrapping of the present. Much like the Heavenly Father giving Jesus to Mary and her wrapping him to lay in the manger for the world to see Him. It is a precious gift.

It is that of a Lord and Savior that cares and loves us no matter what, a Lord that forgives and forgets. A Lord that remembers no wrong doing; a Lord that loves you so deeply that he see every tear that you shed. It can be in public or in the privacy of the bedroom. He sees your pain, your hurt and is there to comfort you with His loving arms and His Words of Comfort. He knows you intimately, so much so that He knows every hair that is on your head, even those that have fallen out. He knows the inner working of your heart, he sees your dreams, your pain, your deep hidden pain that you are afraid to share, and He knows the shame that you hold in your heart. He is there and knows you, and is willing to help you, guide you through that pain, shame and bring you to the side of joy and freedom. His Love is never ending and is ever present to you if you simply cry out to Him.

His forgiveness and love is always there and the door is always open to you, knock and it will be opened and you can walk into the arms of Jesus the true gift of Christmas. Sit in His love and find that eternal peace.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-67306874289600290672011-06-12T20:49:00.000-05:002011-06-12T20:49:52.769-05:00WordsInside all of us is a spirit. We all have one, and we all have some sort of spiritual life that resides in us; no matter if we attend church daily, weekly, monthly or just a couple of times a year. We all have the same spirit that the Lord breathed into Adam when he formed him out of dust. We have a spirit that is given to us by the Father in heaven. When we are baptised and begin to walk with God, it is in those little moments that our Spirit become alive and active in us. It is now that it longs to be fed.

We continue to walk with God, our Spirit grows and we grow in christ. We fed that Spirit within by attending church and learning about Jesus and His ways. We continue to grow through things in the church like prayer and Bible study. Yet, what we often don't realize is that the we are also fed by the words that we hear on the radio, friends / family members, tv and any other sources that we tend to listen to during the day. Our spirit is affected by what we listen to and what is being spoken to us.

Yet, these words are vital to that spirit, and what we are surrounding ourselves with it also holds a lot of power in our lives. Words that are spoken can hurt and wound us deeply. They are able to strike deeper and sharper then any sword or spear could ever imigine to go. These same worlds are there and are able to bring us great Love and joy from Heaven. There is a love that we are freely given by Jesus and all we have to do is ask for it and He is willing to show it to all of us because of His death on the cross.

Our Spirit that we hold within us is one that is very fragile. It wounds easily by words and actions of others. We can be hurt by someone saying something mean or out of context and then the wound forms and bleeds within us. It is in these moments that we long for the affirmation that someone out there care and does love us for who we are, not because of what we do or have done. The spirit man is gentle, and is one who needs to be uplifted in Church or by those who we are in constant contact with on a daily basis.

So the question become who are you listening to and what are they saying to you. Is it Godly things that are to lift ones spirit. Are we around people who love and care for us like family or are we around those who are dragging us down slowly to be miserable. Misery does love company after all. Look at who and what is said to you and around you, then question is this what my Spirit needs to hear, or can I find another to talk to who will lift me up and help that fragile Spirit heal and grow daily.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-86737553853634882002011-06-12T13:25:00.000-05:002011-06-12T13:25:36.396-05:00Clay in Potters HandsI have heard in the past that we are all like a clay in a potters just ready to be shaped and molded into something simply wonderful. Yet the clay had to be formed and ready for molding. As we grow in Christ and in the Church we are that like that lump of clay being handled by God and the Holy Spirit. We could become dry like dust and need a watering or two to come back into the fullness of the modeling ability.

Yet, there are others who are so dry, and have falling into dust, or have walked away from the Lord to the point that we don't even recongize them as Christian any longer. Rather then clay they may resemble flour! A heep of white stuff there on the counter just waiting to react with another chemical to become something great. Yet, the truth be told that once we come the Jesus, He is always nearby, it is more of a question do we take that time to recongize Him in our world. In the life that we are living or is it just a Sunday thing that we do to fill our mornings.

We all came from the dust and was given the breath of God in womb from the time of our conception. In those first moments of life the Lord is there molding us, and changing the cells so we may grow into the person that we are to be according to His will and His love. We are formed in His hands and continue to walk with Him in our early years of life. We slowly come more and more into the world and lose sight of those Heavenly things as we grow. This is because God allows us to chose if we want to continue to walk with Him on this journey or would rather take the road on our own. Yet, no matter what we have chosen He is always near to His Children when we cry out to Him. If it is in a moment of crisis or a moment of Joy, He hears all our prayers and loves us as his beloved Children.

He will sit and wait for you to want to walk with Him, yet he longs to walk and commune with you daily. He understand you, and will wait for your pompting to pull at those heart strings to have to come back the the God who made you in the womb. Yet, when we come home or start to walk with the Lord once again the then rain will begin to fall. In that spiritual rain we will find all that was lacking in the dryness of the land. It is then that we will begin to be molded once again in the Loving Fathers Hands. A time of spiritual grow, love and joy may abound in ones soul, because in all reality we have just returned home like the prodigal son. We are once again walking and being formed as we we were meant to be in the hands of the Father.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-75574542213410226642011-06-06T20:12:00.016-05:002011-06-06T20:28:10.078-05:00AnointingThere is a thing in churches where the people talk about being anoited with God, or the Holy Spirit. That when that anointing comes one is moved in their spirit man to a point that you walk out of church renewed, changed and longing after the relationship with God. Yet, they never really explain what that anointing really is, it is a an amazing thing to be in a service that has a priest or pastor that is anointed to preach or talk about God and the things of Heaven. That anointing can be expalined in very simple terms, it is like being saturated in the Holy Spirirt, when you feel that presence in mass / church and you know that God is there and is very close to you. Often when the Lord ispresent in church His angels are near by as well.

This anointing that the priest or pastor has is not something that they call out to the Lord for right before the mass, often they do not know the heaviness of the Holy Spirit in the masss, because they are the one that is leading and being guided by the Spirit when they give thier Homily or Sermonfor the morning. They enjoy when the people in the congeration tell them waht they feel in the mass or service or if they are able to sense the angels or see the angels there in the service. This anointing that falls if from the Lord and is in His timing and not when man thinks it should come .

Yet, the anointing can fall on anyone of Christ followers, who are devote to Him and continuely deek after Him and His things. The anointing can fall when we pray for others, when the Lord is there when you are counseling others or helping them through a hard time in their life. It can be felt by us or by the person whom we are praying for or guiding, not necessarily by the one who is leading the cousel or prayer. It be fall and the other person can feel God so stongely, yet, the prayers or guidance person does not realize a thing. God truly works in mysterious ways, that man can not explain.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-4868112523318387192011-06-05T19:17:00.001-05:002011-06-05T20:50:06.082-05:00Church is Spiritual?Church, it's that thing we do on Sunday, when we gather up the family and head out the door for that hour or so of God time for the week. Church, where we talk to friends that we haven't seen or had time to talk to much casue life seems to get so busy. Then Sunday comes along and time to get up early and put out time in, something that we do weekly, or for some daily. Yet, what is church? It is a so much more then a physical place that we come to weekly to worship and hear about the good things of God! Is it a place of peace, refreshing, and rest, or is it just a building we attend to satisfy the husband or wife?

Church is basically what we make of it. It is or can be such a wonderful spiritul experience or it can be just routine, something we do. It is one place that we know for a fact that Heaven is brough down to earth for a short or long time depending on how long the service is or how long the pastor / preist feels lead to talk to the congeration. It is when the angels come and surround us with their presence, when the Holy Spirit fills the room and all of the Lord's goodness is all aournd you. Church is when we reach out and grab that small piece of heaven to cling to get through the rough times during the week. It is where we renew our strength, our hope and find that true everlasting love. A time where we sit in the presence of the Lord, if we recongize Him or not He is there in the mist of His believers.

Church is in a sense a true spiritual experience. It is when our spirit is freely able to reach out to God, without us trying to hold it back or fight all that is going on. We tend to relax more in Church and look for that sense of peace that we all have in our lives, a time when we feel at home and settled, at peace with all that is going on around us even if it is just for an hour when we are there focusing on the Lord.

Church is something that we attend or run to in our time of need, because we know that the Lord is there and we want His help and guidance in the things that we are experiencing. It is also a place that we find others who are seeking God, prayer warriors and people that we are able to turn to because they would understand how all these things play into our faith. Simply, because the believe and worship in the same manner that we do. There is a sense of family in a church community, a place where we are able to be ourselves and not have to worry if the pastor or priest is going to love us or like us. It is a place where we feel the love of Chirist in the church but as well through others that we know in the church.

It is a sacred place that we are always safe, and feel loved at all times, no matter what has happendd in the past 10 minutes. It is a safe haven for many. It is a place where they are able to freely share thie emotions, feeling with the pastor or priest and not be in fear of being rejected or looked down upon, but rather loved and guided in the things of the Lord. It is a place that we run to for prayer, and hope in times of need. Somewhere we know that we can to turn to no matter what is happening now or at 3 am, that when we call and need them they are there for us as their congration. The pastor / priest is just a phome call away and they will come out to the hospital at 3am to be there to show God's love and guidande, comfort to those that are His children. They hold the hand of the dying souls, and the hands of the ones who are grieving the lost of the loved ones. They are there through tears of joy, the birth of a new child or the adoption of that special soul into the family. They baptise the child and the adults, and love to watch the Grow, not only physically but spiritually.

Church is a spiritual place, let go and reach out to God and see all that He has to offer to you in that small hour service. Take His hand and lean on His, find that joy, comfort and peace that you so long for, it is all there for His children. All yo have to do is say Yes to God and walk with Him.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-47367120701241021992011-05-23T21:13:00.001-05:002011-05-23T21:13:00.848-05:00Spring Cleaning
Spring is a wonderful season, it is a time where we start a wonderful thing in our households, that of spring cleaning. A time when we take the time to look at our home and all that we have acquired over the past year. It is a time when we scrub our homes extra good to get rid of the last germ or bug that may be lingering in the corners of our home. Spring is also a time of renewal of nature. It is now that all the trees bud, flowers bloom, and the world around us come alive again with colors and scents.

Spring, is a time when we see change in the world around us, and a time when we clean out homes as well. We start to place things aside that we no longer use, want or need and get them ready for the big garage sale. This is the time when we place all of those goods out there for the world to see and we try to sell them during the late spring and early summer. We may even go as far of not only advertising the sale of all of our wondrous goods but have other families and neighbors join in on the fun, of sitting outside and waiting for people to come to our homes and take these things off of our hands for a small price.

Not only is spring about cleaning and nature blooming but it is also a time when we have more and more people over to our home. It is now that we look to have not only the deep cleaning but the mundane cleaning that has to be kept up, after all it is spring and it is getting warmer, which often means that people start to visit more often. We cannot allow us homes to be out of order if we are to have any company. We make sure all the beds are made, the toys are put away, and the dishes are done. Yet there is often a cleaning that we lack, a cleansing that we push aside sine we are getting busier with the kids activities and all the wonderful company that we have during the warmer seasons.

We tend to allow the cobwebs to grow here and there, along with the dust to build us as well. We often over look the spiritual cleansing that spring can bring to all of us. We tend to walk our own way more and more during these warmer months, and focus less and less on God, and Godly things. It s a time when we are so busy on the weekends that we often push God aside and tell Him, not now Lord, maybe next Sunday, we have a picnic today, it is so nice out that the boat is calling etc.

Yet, God is sitting there waiting for you to come and worship. He wants to clean out those places in your soul that have the heaviness and the cobwebs growing. He is there with you on the boat, yet, we are so buy doing and living our own way during this time that we fail to see Him. It is now along with the rest of the year that He is there for you waiting for you to say ok Lord; I am ready to really walk and talk with you. Let's clean house and get rid of the sin in my life so that I may walk fully in your glory. Yes, I will fail, but you will be there and will pick me up, brush off the dust, and cleanse me once again so I may continue my walk with you.

He is there to help you in all that you have set out to do for the day. He is there with you in the office, in the doctor's office waiting to hear the news. He is there with you when you are feeling alone, and when you are so overcome with sadness, guilt or any other emotion, He is there with you. He is there waiting to clean the hidden dusy corners of your heart that you have piled the dirt so high that you no longer can see the floor. He is there with you as you take care of it one scoopful at a time. He is with you, take His hand, and walk with Him. Talk with him and remove all that is hidden deep with you. It is time for a spring cleaning within all of us to happen, a time to be fully renewed.
Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-60182066570046138192011-05-21T00:02:00.002-05:002011-05-21T00:08:24.292-05:00Transformation
In every moment we begin again, or the opportunity to start anew. That in that moment there is an opportunity for transformation and healing to flow through us and our soul. In those moments we are aware of the thoughts and feelings that are surrounding us in the moment. We take in all the sights, sounds and feel all that is in us and in our soul. We open ourselves up to the world that is so hidden within, that we all hide so well from the rest of the world. In that world, the pain and the hurt reside. It is here that they hide, and are packed so well into little boxes that we tend to forget about them until something stirs and then they begin to open.

When the opening starts, we have the chance to live in the moment and start the process of healing the wounds, or to slowing take all the little broken pieces and shove them back into the box. It is then that we get the strongest tape we have and tape it close after stapling all the seams together. After all what we have hidden, no one is to see. It is the pain of the wounds that run so deep that we cannot imagine life without that agony. We hate the hurt, yet cannot image what it is like to function without that hole in our hearts, because it is a part of who we are now. It is a part of us; our personality, our livelihood, and it effect how we live every moment of our live if we realize it or not. This box cannot be opened!

Yet, it starts to open, the staples that are holding it close start to rust, and crumble. Then we look again and see that the seams are coming apart under the tape. Lastly we see that the box is not as sturdy as it once was when we took all the brokenness and place it there when the event that hurt us occurred. Rather, now it is all coming back, the emotions, the memories and we are feeling broken once again. Yet, this time we are not able to find that box to shove it in so we can hide and tell all that we are ok.

Rather, the moment has come where we are ready or think we are ready to start to deal with all that is broken. Time has come when we are willing to heal, and run to safety. It is in this moment we find the arms of Jesus wide open saying come my child, come unto me and I will help you with all that pain and brokenness. It is in this moment that we being transformation and the healing process begins. It is slow, but the Lord is there with the Love and the guidance that we need to walk the path of emotional healing. He understands what it is like to hurt, after all He wept when his one dear fried died. Jesus is there in a heartbeat, to help you heal. His arms are there for comfort, love and help you when you are broken and are not sure all the pieces are there still in the box. His love will place them back together and begin to heal your heart.

He give us His words in scripture, in worship songs so that we may draw unto him when we hurt and feel so wounded, that we can no longer express words. He is there with a thought, he comes and His comfort follows. His love guides us to others who have been there and know the pain that we hold onto, they can relate to all that we are going though, they have the words to pray with you in those times of need. There are priest and pastors who care deeply about you are their sheep in the large flock. They too have the words of comfort, they are there to help you heal, to show you the love that is all around you when you are feeling so broken that you are not sure what to say , or when the tears come tumbling down. They understand the pain, and are willing to walk with you so your heart can be healed by the Heavenly father if you are willing to say "yes" to him. Come and walk with him" , pray to him even if is as simple as "help me Lord" or "God I need you". He is there willing and wanting to heal all that is in you if we are willing to ask Him for His help. We are able to let go of the pain, the shattered pieces and trade them in for a new picture that is all together. Jesus is there waiting to help and heal your heart if you are willing to reach out to him in your time of need.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-13275916069421675592011-05-15T20:13:00.002-05:002011-05-22T10:18:29.515-05:00Spotlight
Have you ever just wanted the spotlight on you for a moment? A time when you wanted the attention that you thought you deserved for doing something, or achieving something great in your mind. Only to find out that it is overlooked by others. Yet, all we want is to be looked upon for that one thing for a moment, for someone, somewhere to notice us, but it passes by and not a soul comments on what we had done. It is a time that we question are we important, do they not know that this is so big in my life, yet so small in the lives that are all around me. It is like a birthday that everyone forgets, except your parent and a maybe one other soul.
We tend to feel lost then, forgotten, and maybe go as far as to think if they loved me they would notice me and all that I have done. If they truly knew me then they would understand that I need some attention right now. That if we need something in a time like this that those around me should know, and I shouldn't have to jump up and down or ask for the attention, after all they are suppose to love me. They are my family and friends, they know me the best, yet it seems like at the moment that they don't know you at all. They are so far off that you would have to toss the ball from one ballpark to another to get them to notice you right now.
The pain that you are holding onto in that moment is so insignificant to anyone else around you, and yet you can't reach out to them in that moment. It is in that moment, that you are afraid to draw the attention unto your self. So we hold onto those things and hide them deep within us, we burry that pain and think to ourselves that we are just not that important to be noticed. Yet, the opposite is true. We do matter and our thoughts, feelings, pain and joy never go unnoticed by God. He is there in the midst of all the pain, He is there longing to hold you when you cry, when you let the river of tears fall and then the healing process begins.
God is there with you in these important times when we feel lonely, scared, pain, joy, and any other emotion. He is so real in the theses moments, yet He won't interfere, He will sit and wait for you to cry out to him before he comes to you. It breaks the father's heart to see you his child hurting, and feeling like you don't matter. He is there with you, He longs to be there with you and wants you to walk with Him all the time and not just in the times when you are hurting, He is reaching out to you on a daily basis the question is are you willing to take His hand and walk along the road with Him.
The Lord does give us helpers along the way, He provides us with priest and pastors that truly care about His children. He provides us with those who love us and want to help us see God in all the situations that we are facing, especially when we are not able to God anywhere. He gives us those who can pray with us, and comfort us in times of crisis, emotional pain. That there are those in the church who do care about you as a person, but we have to be willing to reach out to them in times of need. When we reach out to others we are able to take in God's love when we can't see God at the moment. They are able to draw a small piece of Heaven down to earth and show you God's love, comfort and care are near. Take another's hand and reach out to God in those deep moments of pain or hurt and you will find all that your heart needs to start to heal.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-52502618921796857312011-04-19T21:49:00.002-05:002011-04-19T21:50:24.201-05:00I Want Something New!!
As we move into adulthood we tend to put away the toys that we have in our lives and turn to the world of being a grown up. We move to working our careers, bills, and fun that is different that anything we could ever imagine as a child. Yet, we still look to things in the world to be happy at times. That we could just get a new purse, shoes, car, guitar, etc that we would be so much happier. Yet, the joy that all these things that we acquire disappear over time and we are looking for that next new thing, a dress, suit, ipad, phone etc. to bring back to those moments of joy of having something new.

It is amazing that even as adults, that so many people look to material things for there happiness. That all joy is from those things that we acquire in this life. Yes, toys in the adult world get bigger as we get older, that new house, boat, RV, pool etc. but that source of happiness is so limited to the newness of the object that we place in the garage, home or in our pocket. It is a temporary fix, till we get that urge to have something new because we want it or need to feel that joy once again.

It is sad, that we still look to things for the source of our happiness rather then looking at ourselves to see what is causing that sadness, that somber mood at the moment that we want to hide or just cover up by buying something new to hide that pain that is so well hidden in our hearts. That pain that we don't like to talk about, because the tears may fall or we feel that we will just crumble there on the spot, or melt away like the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz!

Truth be told, that we hate that deep pain, that hurt that seems to haunt us in all that we do, we are afraid of sharing it at all, since others will judge us. It is as if we cant talk about it cause then everyone will know that we are weak, soft, and may actually see us cry and that is simply forbidden. Yet, we shy away from those in the church that maybe able to help us heal as well. We are afraid to turn to them, again they may judge us for the pain, or worse if they knew what I had done they may not forgive me or even hate me. Yet, the pastor at the church or the priest that is there waiting for that call. They are there fir the lay people of the church. They are in the business of helping; they are there to do the work of the Heavenly Father.

The priest / pastor of your church would love to chat, and have the time with you. He wants to know the matters of the heart so he can lead you in the right direction. That he can pray for you, help you heal, wipe your tears, listen to the pain, and be there for you if you are willing to talk to them. They are to show you the love and the compassion that the Father in heaven has for all His children. They are there to help you along the road of healing by showing you that the Father in heaven is there to hold your hand, and walk with you when you are hurting. Yet, they are there to help lighten the load as we walk along the paths of life that are difficult or seem impossible. The priest / pastors are there to help you leave that heaviness at the door, as they lay it at the feet of Jesus. He is there to show you and guide you with your walk with Jesus. In times of struggles, and deep pain when you just can't find the words to cry out to God, they can help you put the words together and form the thoughts to express what it is you need God to help you with so your heart can finally start to heal without all the toys and temporary fixes of the world.

Rather, the Father wants you to leave those burdens at His feet, to leave that pain at the foot of the cross, and to walk away from all that is troubling your heart. He is there to stitch up the wounds, and want to heal all the old scars so they are able to fad away. He sees all the pain, the tears and it breaks His heart that we as His Children do not turn to Him for the healings that are related to the heart. He wants to take that burden or pain, and replace it with joy! A joy that is not found in things that is temporary, but rather a joy that is complete. It is a joy that can only come from Heaven. Joy that comes from knowing we have a Father in Heaven that loves us, know us, because we walk with Him daily.
We seem to be some sort of Nomad at that moment. A time where we all seem to lose our sense of direction, or have moved of the beaten path in the forest. We tend to move and look about at all that is surrounding us and move along looking for the guide that we are to be following in the desert, yet we are not sure where we wandered off but it can't be too far, they have to be close, afterall I just seen the guide and the group not that long ago. Yet, I am not sure when that was since something caught my attention and I went to explore the world over here. Wait! Does anyone know that I am not there? Do they realize that I am out here alone? I need to get back to that place where they are, now what way did I come from; it all looks the same out here.

Or maybe we are more like the Isrealites, where we wander in the desert for a long period of time, because we are not listening to the voice of God. Maybe, we are so wrapped up in the sin in our lives that we are no longer able to hear His voice or feel His Holy Presence. It is in those moment's we would swear that God has left our side and we feel alone. As if God is hiding in another room, in some other building in a different city and state. We look for Him in Sunday morning church, yet we feel nothing. Like we are walking in a land of dry dead bones. Yet, when we speak to others, it is in that moment we realize that they are in the middle of a downpour, that His spirit is flooding them and comforting them, giving them comfort. It is then that we start to wonder what happened to us, why am I here in the dry land and yet the rain is all around me.

Could it be that sin we are not willing to let go of is really holding us back from the Heavenly Father? Is it the sin, or maybe I have done more then I realize and that there is no way that God will ever forgive me so we walk in the worldly things instead of Godly things. It could be that sin has taken such a stronghold in our lives because we stopped praying and seeking God in His word. Yet, how do we pray if God is not going to listen to me, or forgive me for all that I had done, or better yet why would He want me back if He know what I have done and tried lately?

The beauty of the wandering soul in the land of dry and weary bones, is that it won't and can't last forever. God will send His rain if you ask, He can wash over you with rain so pure and refreshing that will draw you into Him more they you can ever imagine. He will send His rain, but if there is sin in your life that you need to be washed from then repent, and call out to God, He is there and will answer you when you call. The beauty of His Blood that was shed is that once we ask for forgiveness He see that sin no more, we become clean, and able to walk with Him on a new level that we may not realize exists at this moment.

His forgiveness, His rain that refreshes the soul is there for all of us. Cry out to the Father, ask Him the questions, yell, cry, weep, He is able to take all that you are willing Him. Then wait and Listen to His response. He is there with you in the dry land, He is there with you in the moments of weeping and heartache. His hands are there wanting to Hold you close to His side when the trails and pain come flooding over you. His healing hands are there in those moments, if we are willing to cry out to as our Heavenly Father. If we are willing to let go of all those things that are holding us back from God, we are able to grow in Him and become closer to the Father then we can ever dream. We can come to the point that when we call out "Lord, walk with me and hold my hand through this" we will sense Him there with us and He is always near, He won't leave us nor forsake us becase we are His beloved Children.

So if we feel like wandering out there, realize that God is but a prayer away, all we have to do is cry out to Him and He will come. He is there if we are willing to allow Him to be there.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-62854670738465882012011-04-09T23:06:00.002-05:002011-04-09T23:40:04.270-05:00The CovenantOver the course of our lives we make promises to one another. We go and talk to others and make some sort of commitment to another person by promising them something that we are going to do for them. In a sense we are entering into some sort of contract without all the formal legality of it. We enter into these contracts with others freely without thinking twice, because we know the other individual that we are making that committment. In this committment with one another we are agreeing to do or give a part of ourselves to another person in some sort of manner. In the same way we are to enter into a blood covenant with the Lord.

This blood covenant is one that is important to all Chiristians, because it is that which atones us from all sin. This covenant that we have with God is so much more. It is a promise / contract that God has made with all of us at the time of our bapitism and salavation. It comes into effect with one prayed the sinners prayer, saught out God for the first time and looked to Him for all that He is and can be in us. This is the contract that God cannot and will never go back on, that we are forgiven for all sin in our lives if we confess it to Him, it is then that we are covered by the blood tat was shed on the cross and are made white as snow in the Father's eyes.

Yet, there is so much more to this then just the forgiveness of our sins. Yes, that is vital but we are so much more in Christ then just forgiven. We are His sons and daughters, whom He loves enough to have His only son die for us on the cross. This blood that was shed is the key to many of the promises that God has made to us. It is essentially the bases for all that we are and able to be in Jesus. In Him and through His holy Spirit we are able to have the ablility to achieve all the promises of God.

We are able to Heal the sick and the weak. We are able to pray to the Father for a physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, and He will answer. He is there listening and willing to cover all that we can possibly need in when it comes to healing. When God heals us there is no other explaniation of what has happened or the miracle that has just occured. God promises this healing through the covenant of His blood that was shed on Calvery.

He is telling us as Christians that this covenant that He has formed with us is eternal. It is not conditional on what we do or say, rather it is given freely because we are His children. By having that right we are able to perform all the same miracles that the apostles had done in the new testament of the Bible. We have the ability to walk with Christ in this world, and perform all the miracle that the Lord did in His time because we have that divine covenant with the Lord. All that Jesus is, is who we are to be in this life. We are to walk as He would have walked, and help others who are poor and less fortunate ten us. We are to forgive others and perform miracles in our daily walk with the Father. We are divine children and have the ability to do miracles on a daily bases if we partake in the covenant of the Lord Jesus Christ.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-5285696392612491502011-03-27T17:14:00.001-05:002011-03-27T17:14:13.699-05:00Failure
There are times in all of our lives that we tend to fail. We miss passing a class by a couple of points, or miss a getting a certification because we get one question too many wrong. Yet, at some point in our walk with God we see ourselves as a complete and total failure. This may be due to a sin that we have struggled with for years and are just not able to stop for one reason or another. We may feel that we have failed in God's eyes because we are able to further His kingdom in the manner that we should, we look to others standards and try to out do or achieve their goals in a short time. Failure is one of those deep emotions that can run to the core of the soul. It cause one to often think of them selves as less valuable then they are. It can stir up a deep sadness within the person and may go as far as leading them down the road of depression, because they have failed.

Failure is not word that is in the vocabulary of God, when He looks at you. He sees you as His child that He loves and cherishes. He knows the hurts and the pain in your soul and is willing to take it from you if you are willing to let go. God does not see your faults and sins daily, rather, He sees you as His child that He loves. He knows that sometimes we fall and it is then that we get up and brush ourselves off, and walk with Him again. In the brushing off the dust and dirt is the time of growth in God. It is then that we are able to see Him in a new light and fully come to Him in our time of need and He will provide for you. His love is there overflowing for you His precious child. He knows that by you falling and calling out to Him that you are willing to grow, and be guided by His hands. The only other option we have is when we are down in the dust, dirt and grim that we continue to wallow in the mud.

Yet, this is no excuse for us to continue to sin and ignore God in our daily life. Even if we fall, fail at something we are to pick ourselves up or ask for the help of others and move forward. We as Children of God have the ability to be forgiven for all our sin because of the blood that was shed on the cross. We are cleaned in the Father's sight, after all we are His beloved. There is nothing that we can do that would make God turn form us completely and walk away. There is not a sin that we are able to commit that He will not forgive and welcome you into His loving arm once again.

When we stumble and fall into that deep mud hole, it is then that we learn to walk again. We are able to grab a hold of the hand of another and start to walk again. In those moments we are growing in God and in our relationship with others in the Church, whether it is with the priest, pastor or another leader of the church. We always have the chance to reach out to others and ask for a hand, prayer, or just time to talk so we can lighten the soul and all that is on our heart. In these moments God is there, after all when two or more are gathered He is there with you.

After we are up, brushed off and ready to walk again, we are able to learn from all that has happened. We are able to look at the situation, causes or reasons that lead us to slip and fall into that muddy hole. We get up walk forward and do not look back at all that has happened. Rather we move forward and grow in God. Since we are now once again seen as clean in God's eyes. He does not recall the sins of the past once we confess them to the Priest, Pastor or to God. It is able to show us how much we need God's love, forgiveness and His mercies in our daily lives.

We are not a failure in His eyes, rather a child who is growing and has stumbled along the way. He is there to help us up, brush us off, take the sin from us and then love us as His beloved child.
Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-13519905133432509072011-03-27T10:21:00.001-05:002011-03-27T10:21:17.086-05:00A child of God
It is so easy to become caught up in the world, and all that is going on in our lives at the moment. We tend to forget that we are children of the high King. That no matter what we are the children of God, we are a descendant of Abraham, since he is the Father of many nations. We too are a part of that linage and can then therefore be a Child of God. As children of God we have a special place in God's heart and he cares about us, and loves us without end. He is there helping us walk in the world, even though we are not a part of the world, because our true home is in heaven with the Father.

God is an amazing God, in that He is able to forgiven and forget all the sins that we have committed against us once we ask him for forgiveness, that is granted to us by the blood of his Son that he sent to die on the cross. By the blood that was shed on the cross, we are totally forgiven and all those things that we had done against God in the past are no longer present. Rather, as His children we are loved, and seen as clean in His sight. Even when we slip up, and see ourselves as a disappointment in God's eyes; yet, God see us as His beloved children who are always able to run to Him no matter what has happened. This is because God does not see us as a disappointment, or a failure in His eyes, rather, he sees us as his beloved sons, and daughters. He is able to separate the sin from who we are in Him because we are forgiven in His eyes.

Since we are His beloved children we are those in the world who always have hope. We are able to hold onto hope in the bleakest, most tragic situations because we have God at our side. We know in times of struggle and in times of need that we have God there at our side. When we are weak He is there and His strength will pull us through the situation. We have hope because we know that God is faithful in all that He promises to us in the Bible. It states there in the book of Jeremiah that God will give us a hope and a future; he has no plans to hurt or harm us.

It also states in the Bible that God is near to those who seek Him that He will answer then when we call out to God. That God is good to those that are His Children. He will never forsake us or leave us as it states in the book of Hebrews in the Bible. Thus He is near when we call or are in time of need because He cares for us as His beloved Children. He is there willing to help heal us and make us whole, cleanse us of the past and allow us to walk forward with Him at our side because He loves and care for us. It states in the book of Matthew that if we are willing to pray with another that God is there with us. He is there and He will indeed hear our prayers, but will only answer then according to the plans of the Father in Heaven. His plans far succeed any that we are able to make here on earth. He wants to give us a hope and a future and along with that we will be able to reside in His house in Heaven, it has many rooms as it states in the book of John. God wants us all in his Mansion be has the space to accommodate all His beloved children. After all we are His beloved!
Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-12715768050802157072011-03-25T19:05:00.001-05:002011-03-25T19:05:10.223-05:00He Knows
It is amazing that we are able to live in a country that values all people, races and cultures. A place where we are able to freely worship God without fear of jail, death or any other sever consequences for the faith that we hold so dear to our hearts. We are able to seek out counsel, medical treatments and any other therapy that we so wish to engage ourselves in at the moment. We can play in Yoga, that has roots based in Buddhism, then walk into church and not have any thoughts as to if the Yoga moves that some say is a form of worship to Buda.

We are able to send children to schools, and know that they are safe and being educated by people who love them in a way that no others can because they have that drive to teach young children. We share our family and very young children with daycare workers and with nannies in our homes so our lives are less complicated and able to keep some sort of sanity as we move through out the day.

Then there is the other side of the coin, where there are those who long to be parents, and are not able to conceive a child for one reason or another. Children are a gift that the Lord gives to us at a time in our lives that it is right whether we think it is a right timing or not, all things happen in God's timing and according to His plans. God is the one that is there always looking over our children as they attend school, sports etc. He is there watching the children and loves to have them come to His house and learn about His goodness. God, love all the children young and old. We all are a child of God, and share in His everlasting love along with His blessings. We are able to reach out to Him at any time without making a formal appointment.

He also thought ahead, God knew that we would need others to help us along the road of life. Thus He gave us priests, pastors, nuns, deacons, and associates that we are able to call upon in a time of need, worry, sadness, and in times of joy. Yes, we can call to God directly but sometimes we long for the words of another to help guide and comfort us, to show us the Love that the father has for us and that we are not forgotten by God or by the church that is there to help us along the path that we are traveling. God gave us Priests, and Pastors to help us reach heaven and His holy throne. He is there with us when 2 or more gather in His name and pray. He is there with us when the tears fall, when the joy comes in the morning. The question becomes will we reach out to those who know how to help in the times we are seeking or do we wonder in the desert and look at dry land.

God knows our heart, he knows that you worry about your children; He hears the prayers that you say nightly or every morning that we send them out the door for school. He send angels to protect them if we so ask. God is there with the children, they are often more open to the things of Heaven because they are able to will always listen to the little ones.

God knows our hearts and is willing to help and be there for all our needs if we are open to Him and all that he has for us.
Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-60473275319256517682011-03-06T09:26:00.001-06:002011-03-06T09:26:08.605-06:00Vacation
Every so often we get to go on vacation. We all love going on vacation, we plans for months where we are going to go, what we are going to do while we are there and we may even plan some of the meals that we are going to eat out. We take all the time to research the area, to find what events will be happening while we are there, we look at the local paper to see the news, the weather and all the current events so as we go out on that daily adventure we are able to take a sense of adventure into the unknown city. We love to explore the world around us, yet sometimes it is so nice to see the new and unexplored land, that state we always wanted to visit, the little island in the Caribbean, the state park that looks so beautiful online and in pictures that we have to go and see it with our own eyes. We need to take in all that beauty for ourselves because the awe of it all is so breath taking that we want to hold onto that moment forever. We try to accomplish that by taking the camera on the trip and shoot all the pictures so that we may never forget all that we seen, and the beauty that surrounds us along with the joy that we felt as we were exploring the new places together.

Yet, before we are able to travel out that door for the weekend adventure or maybe a week or two away we spend months planning and saving to ensure that we have the best time ever. We spend evening researching all the information, and preparing to leave home for a short time span. Yet, the night before we leave we are so excited to think that we are actually getting to go away for a short time. We get the suitcase out of the closet to start to pack all that we are going to need for the journey. In this suitcase we place all the things we need to live outside the home, the clothes we need to wear, the personal care products that we will need on the trip. We place all these things in the suitcase so we can carry it with us, so we have a piece of home with us as we travel. We all have our favorite jeans, sweatshirt that has to go no matter what, like a child takes his or her favorite teddy bear because they just cannot sleep without them at their side throughout the night.

Although, have you ever noticed that when we travel away on vacation, we seem to leave out one thing that we tend to cling to during the weeks at home. We leave God out of the vacation. We pack and plan for all the wondrous things that we are going to do, but we leave the Heavenly Father at home. Well, we cannot place the Father in the suitcase it just won't work. We often take the week and walk a road that is not close to God, rather it is one that we just do what we want tend really enjoy the world that is around us. It is like that dog that keeps going back to the vomit, because they are not able to walk away from that sin or pain.

Often when we are on the wonderful vacation from the daily life, we stop praying or talking to God. We enjoy the full weekend away, and never even stop to look for a church to stop by and worship at while you are away. We will leave the Bible on the coffee table at home instead of packing it in the suitcase or placing it in the car. Why would we want to focus on God while we are traveling, when we can have so many other conservations with those who are with us. Yet, the moment we return to the real world of work, school, activities, stress reenters our lives and we cry out once again to God to come and help us through the day once again. Besides if we stop to pray and worship while we are away, how would we know all that we are going to the right church, and would the people there be welcoming to us knowing that we are there just passing through on our way home. Why, would they want us there intruding on there service, sitting in their pew in the church. We all know that it is our pew, and how dare someone new or old sit there, knowing that we sit there every Sunday. That it is part of our Sunday routine. Oh, when someone else sits there we suddenly become annoyed and have to actually look for another seat in the church. It is almost like God just won't talk to us if we are not in the right pew. It is as if God won't be able to find us if we are not in the right spot in church. Yet, deep down we know that it is not true. We know that God is there in the Church, in our hearts, our actions and in our words. Yet, we get so caught up on the little things we stop paying attention to Him on a daily basis, because we are so caught up in that routine at home.

So when we travel on vacation we take this luggage that we pull all over town, our bag of stuff that we just could not leave home without even if it is for one night we pack this bag of stuff. Yet is God in that bag, do you invite Him to travel with you. He is there when you are traveling keeping you safe on the road, in the air, or out on the sea. Yet, God is always there if we take the time to get to know Him, we may ignore Him at time or wishes he would close His eyes when we walk into sin, but He is right there with you in the midst of it all, because He promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is there in the joyful vacations. He is there with you as you admire His handy work. After all it is all His creation that you are out there admiring. His love does not stop; He does not withdraw that love because you are caring that luggage with you in another town. God travels with you, His hands, His Love are there with you if you are sitting there at home, in your pew at church or if you are thousands of miles from home. His love does not stop. It is always reaching, and guiding you through out the day. All we have to do is simply cry out to God, and He comes to us His children because He loves us. That love that he has for us is not contained to a place, a pew, if is simply because we are His children and He cares for us.

Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-82416063708578076522011-02-28T00:02:00.002-06:002011-02-28T00:06:39.220-06:00Ground Control
There is something to be said for being grounded; when we are young it was something that we often hated the thought of, because we saw it as a horrible punishment. Yet as an adult we wouldn't mind being grounded. It would be lovely to have that freedom from all the chaos that surrounds us on a daily basis. A time to sit back and reflect not only on the day, but also what is to come that evening home. A quiet dinner, time to play with our children, time to spend talking and enjoying the company of the spouse. It is a time where we able to find balance, when we take the time to stop and reflect on all that has happened around us, to us and in our community.

It is a time when we are able to slow down, and really see what is happening. This is a time when we are able to focus on what is really important to us and to our family. It can be a time when we stop focusing on the little things and start to see the bigger picture. In the quietness of life is when we can come to God with the hassles of the daily commitments and stress that often follows us throughout the day. It is in that quiet moment we can draw to God, and sit in His presence and really absorb what He wants to us. He is there reaching out, in the quiet time of prayer and relaxation. He is able to reach us when we are not looking, by sending a person to comfort, love, or simply spend some time with us.

God is there, even when we cannot see Him working on our behalf, He is there. He listens to each and every prayer; he sees all the tears, knows our fears and is willing to come to us as His children in the matter of a single heartbeat. God is there sitting in the chair of Ground Control, waiting for you to ask for His guidance, His help, His love, His comfort. He has the angels there waiting and ready to assist and guide the plane, the car or just give us direction during the day. He can help give us the words to say to a co worker that is hurting but is too ashamed to share, or have us hug someone we know cause they are feeling that no one really cares. He is there to help us walk the Christian walk, so that we are able to show His love to those that are there around us. God is able to show us things in prayer, dreams that will allow us to help a stranger in need or a distant family member who is missing someone at that moment. God is willing to help, guide and walk with us through this life so we are not alone. He is always near, because we are told in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

God is there in the ground control chair, just waiting for your prayer, your cry for help, your praise, and your concerns of the day. He has the means to help you make it through the day that seems to never end. He is there when the bosses are yelling and there is nothing you can do but nod. Yet, it is then that you feel so low, and unworthy of all things that you would rather hide under the desk then to have to face the world. It is hard to face all that the world is throwing at you with all that you have to be to so many people. All that you have to achieve daily to feel like you really made a difference. Yet, with God on your side you are able to walk with your head held high because you know He is in ultimate control, and you are safe there in His hands. We know as His children that we are loved and that our sense of worth is grounded in Heavenly thing and no one can take that from us, because we are children of the Heavenly Father, the King!Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80056682085689902.post-45146903015110910122011-02-27T23:16:00.002-06:002011-02-27T23:20:22.963-06:00Look Around at the World Outside Your Window
As we go through the daily bustle of life, we tend to move with purpose in all that we do. We have deadline to meet, places to be and no time to smell the roses along the way. We have to be somewhere now or in five minutes from now and we may already be late. We have kids to get up, prepare for school, tend to the house, get to work plan the meals, and then help the children with homework, let alone get them to all the activities that they want to participate in on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Sometime all we want in a week is the time to simply take a long hot bath and relax for ten whole minutes. Ten minutes when the phone is not ringing, no one is yelling through the door for you, and the doorbell is finally quiet for the night. We just want to be home, in the house and enjoy the family, the quiet and hide from all the other things that are happening in the world.

We are so caught up in all that we have to do and places that we have to be that we forget to notice the little things that are all around us on a daily basis that we take for granted. Like the beautiful park we used to enjoy walking through at sunset or that early morning run. We lose sight of the butterflies in the summer that flutter by with beauty that can only come from God and his color crayons. The birds, oh the birds and the whimsical of their songs that fill the silence of nature that is all around us. The birds that are so full of life and their coloring give brightness to the sky as they fly from one tree to another during the day, as their songs float among the leaves of the trees. We tend to lose sight of the squirrels and rabbits that play hide and seek through out the day among the pine trees.

We move so quickly that we stop noticing people that are always around, like they tend to fade into the nature, and become part of the background. When you drive to work you stop at the signs and obey all that traffic signal, yet we don't see the world as we pass it by. We miss all that is there among nature that is simply outside our window. We haven't seen the new flowers that were panted weeks ago because we are so busy and can't take the time to look around as we pass by, after all we do have that deadline to meet, and there people waiting for us. We have to keep moving forward, and keep going at such a pace that at the end of the day we fall into bed. When we land on that pillow we are asleep so fast we can't remember if we kissed our spouse good night.

Yet, life is not meant to be a rat race. We are not here to run ourselves so ragged and be so run down that we can't take the time to see the beauty that is all around us. We have to work, and have commitments, this is true but we also have a commitment to God as well. We are here to serve and follow after Him. We are here praise Him in all of His glory, after all he takes care of the birds, butterflies, the ducks in the ponds and all the animals that we find in nature. God is there watching us and wanting us to slow down, see His wondrous works that are there outside the window. Take the time to thank Him during the day for the gifts that he has given us each and every day. God is there with us during the rush, yet, all He wants is for you to reach out when you are feeling stressed by the daily things of life. It could be a simple quiet prayer in the car, a sigh at work when you talk to God and ask Him for the strength to make it though another rough day. God shows us that He is there with us daily and that we do not have to worry about the things to come, if we trust in Him. He will provide for us when we are not sure how we are going to make it though the day, week or month.

The Father is there waiting for you to reach out to Him so He can shower you with His love where ever you are and what ever you are doing and need to feel His presence around you. He is there if you ask He will come to you because you are His child and He does not want see you hurting. He knows the tears that you shed, the joy that you share with others. He is there with you in meeting at work, or in the rush hour traffic in the morning. He is there guiding you through the day if you reach out and take His hand as you go about the day. It is a little prayer or lengthy prayer where you pour your heart out, He is there listening to every word, He will never turn a deaf ear. God is simply a prayer away.

Just as God guides the birds wings of flight, the blooming of the flowers, the budding of the trees, He is there with us daily. God is there in the play of the rabbits, and the ducks on the pond, He provides for all their needs, how much more will He provide for His children who he loves. He takes care of all the animals and the plants, He is there for your needs as well, if you are willing to reach out to Him when you need to feel His touch, His Love, His guidance. He has placed all that we need at our footsteps, if we are willing to listen to His voice. God is there showing us so much through the nature that is there outside out window. God is near, reach out to Him and He will be there.

Love is a mighty splendid thing. It is a wonderful emotion that is vital to our very existence. It is the thing that keeps us going when times get hard, it is that thing that gives us warm fuzzies inside when it happens. When we fall into that sea of love it tends to overtake all that we are, and occupies us to a whole new level. Love is that very thing we draw to when we have feeling have been hurt or someone / something has wounded our heart. Love lives within us. It is there and we chose who and when to display that love to others. Amazingly there are different kinds of love, there is the loves we have for our spouse, our children, friends, family members, church family, out priests or pastors, the teachers that our children love, or hate because they are a little tough on them to help them achieve their full potential in the classroom. Yet, we don't really think about Love that way, we know the thoughts and feeling of love, and we seem to run with it when it happens.
Yet, there is so much more to love then the simple emotion. There are the actions of love as well. That someone thinks of you often helps you when you are down because they care for you and about you. Love is there in the daycare, where you leave the children for 8 to 10 hours a day. Love is present in the nursing homes where the elderly are left and no one come to visit. The staff is there to talk to them, hold their hands, listen to their stories, and simply share life with them when they are feeling blue. Love is there in the ER when the doctors and nurses are running around to save or help the one that you love feel better, or if one passes they are there to help you grieve, bring you resource to help you deal with the death of a loved one that is unexpected, they listen, they care for you and all that has just happened. They are there because not only do they love to help others, but they are also a source of support and a listening ear when things go wrong. There is love that is happening in rehab home as those who are there are struggling to learn or relearn skills. The staff are there to rejoice with them when small steps are going right and there is an improvement, it may be a small one that is easily overlooked, but to the individual it is amazing, and staff understand that and rejoice with them.
There is love in the supermarkets, the Target stores, the Wal-Marts, Kohls and any other business that one may go to on a daily basis for work. There is a sense of family that is able to develop around you with co-workers. We start to develop friendships at work. There are people we like to talk to when things go wrong, others we can tell anything too, and some we like to shop with or go out with at the end of the night. In it all there is a friendship that forms and binds us to one another and at the center of it is Love. Love is there when we worry about a co-worker is not coming to work, and we are not sure what has happened to them. We have a bond with those individuals that tend to go a little deeper then just a person we work with, when essential we come to care and love them as a part of a extended family. We may not celebrate holidays with them but yet we care for them and worry about them if something is going wrong in their lives and all seems to be crashing down around them.
Although, at the center of all love is God. He is love, he shows us His love by dying on the cross and taking all the sins that we have ever committed or could ever conceive of committing and wipes our slate clean. He loves us with an love that there is no other love that is able to compare to it. It is a love that is always present in us, we know that God cares and loves us on a daily basis, and that there is no way we can earn that love. Rather, His love is freely give to all those who are willing to accept Him and walk with Him, talk to Him through prayer. We are able to run to Him in our times of need and never, ever will He call us needy, or childish! He is there waiting and wanting to shower us with His love is we go to Him. We are able to learn about Him through reading and worshiping Him in our homes, along with attending mass / church on Sunday morning. If we are truly lucky we are able to attend church or mass more so we are able to commune with Him on a more intimate level. By growing in God and in His Love we are able to reach out to other and show them the Love of Christ through our action, our words and by just being a Child of God in these hard times. We have the opportunity to love and be loved by the Father in Heaven, why not accept the free gift that he offers us and walk in His love daily.Mrs.Schorphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10416893802161597582noreply@blogger.com0
