Church, it's that thing we do on Sunday, when we gather up the family and head out the door for that hour or so of God time for the week. Church, where we talk to friends that we haven't seen or had time to talk to much casue life seems to get so busy. Then Sunday comes along and time to get up early and put out time in, something that we do weekly, or for some daily. Yet, what is church? It is a so much more then a physical place that we come to weekly to worship and hear about the good things of God! Is it a place of peace, refreshing, and rest, or is it just a building we attend to satisfy the husband or wife?
Church is basically what we make of it. It is or can be such a wonderful spiritul experience or it can be just routine, something we do. It is one place that we know for a fact that Heaven is brough down to earth for a short or long time depending on how long the service is or how long the pastor / preist feels lead to talk to the congeration. It is when the angels come and surround us with their presence, when the Holy Spirit fills the room and all of the Lord's goodness is all aournd you. Church is when we reach out and grab that small piece of heaven to cling to get through the rough times during the week. It is where we renew our strength, our hope and find that true everlasting love. A time where we sit in the presence of the Lord, if we recongize Him or not He is there in the mist of His believers.
Church is in a sense a true spiritual experience. It is when our spirit is freely able to reach out to God, without us trying to hold it back or fight all that is going on. We tend to relax more in Church and look for that sense of peace that we all have in our lives, a time when we feel at home and settled, at peace with all that is going on around us even if it is just for an hour when we are there focusing on the Lord.
Church is something that we attend or run to in our time of need, because we know that the Lord is there and we want His help and guidance in the things that we are experiencing. It is also a place that we find others who are seeking God, prayer warriors and people that we are able to turn to because they would understand how all these things play into our faith. Simply, because the believe and worship in the same manner that we do. There is a sense of family in a church community, a place where we are able to be ourselves and not have to worry if the pastor or priest is going to love us or like us. It is a place where we feel the love of Chirist in the church but as well through others that we know in the church.
It is a sacred place that we are always safe, and feel loved at all times, no matter what has happendd in the past 10 minutes. It is a safe haven for many. It is a place where they are able to freely share thie emotions, feeling with the pastor or priest and not be in fear of being rejected or looked down upon, but rather loved and guided in the things of the Lord. It is a place that we run to for prayer, and hope in times of need. Somewhere we know that we can to turn to no matter what is happening now or at 3 am, that when we call and need them they are there for us as their congration. The pastor / priest is just a phome call away and they will come out to the hospital at 3am to be there to show God's love and guidande, comfort to those that are His children. They hold the hand of the dying souls, and the hands of the ones who are grieving the lost of the loved ones. They are there through tears of joy, the birth of a new child or the adoption of that special soul into the family. They baptise the child and the adults, and love to watch the Grow, not only physically but spiritually.
Church is a spiritual place, let go and reach out to God and see all that He has to offer to you in that small hour service. Take His hand and lean on His, find that joy, comfort and peace that you so long for, it is all there for His children. All yo have to do is say Yes to God and walk with Him.

Twinkling Star
As a child we all learn a common nursery rhyme that deals with the stars in the sky. Then as we grow and become school age we learn that these stars are a wonderful thing. Stars are placed on our papers when we do a great job on an assignment. We hurry home with that paper and tack it on the fridge for all the world to see. It is something that we are proud of and as a plus we got a star on our paper.
There are other stars as well, the ones in space that light the night sky. Ones that are so bright that they have to be seen by all. There are stars that we watch on TV, at concerts and stars that we know in our lives. People that we see as special to us, those that are our shining star in the darkest hour of night. Stars are everywhere, it just depends on what star you are looking for and why.
Yet, there is one star in the night that is brightest, it is the star of David. That star is a representation of Christ, the light that resides in us as Christians. Christ is the light that shines through us as we walk with Jesus on a daily basis. He is the hope that all Christians have because of their faith in the Jesus and in the Father in heaven. That light is one that is to be shared with all that we come in contact with on a daily basis. It is not something that we are to hide from the world. Why, hide something that brings you so much joy, peace, comfort and love. It is something that we should want to shout from the roof tops that we know the secret to true happiness and love. That we know the almighty, the all powerful God. The God who loves and cares for each and every one of us, to the point that he knows each tear that we cry and every hair on our head.
We are able to come to the true light, daily and without having to fear rejection or punishment. We come to the Father through Jesus who has washed us clean and has taken all the sins from us. By Jesus dying on the cross for our salvation we are able to freely come to the Father, because He sees us as clean, white as snow. We are able to walk with Him, commune with Him, Talk with Him and have a real relationship with the Father in Heaven. This relationship is one that the Father longs to have with you, if you are willing to reach out and walk in the true light of the world. Reach out and grab that twinkling star, and walk in the light of Father.

Transformation Story
Stories are great, even as adults we love to tell others our stories. Stories that we have heard or those things that have happened to us personally. We call other and say something like, man I got a story for you, or you are not going to believe this. or you will never guess what happen. Then we go on and tell them all that has happened to us or others in our lives.
Stories are a wonderful thing, they are a part of who we are and what we are becoming as we age and grow older. A story is like a tree that is about to be transformed into something wonderful. Yet, the tree can't see that there is any way that it can be more beautiful then it is right now. Yet the carver or creator sees beyond the bark and the trunk, and sees a wondrous bench that we can sit on in the yard. or a playground that can bring so many children joy. Yet, it is the same in our Christian walk. God is able to see all that you are and can be for Him in this world, yet all we can see is the present and all that is surrounding us right now. It is so easy for us to get frustrated with God, and question Him and His ways when we can't see the answers now. It is then that God is slowing pealing away that bark and starting our transformation.
In that transformation in Christ, there is growth, and it may mean that we have to walk away from ungodly things, or from those people in our lives that are a bad influence on us. We may have to let go of hurts, forgive others and allow God to mend our hearts. So that we can be transformed into something more beautiful. In that transformation, we are changed into something so beautiful and the Father in Heaven is so proud to watch His story unfold in us. He is there guiding us when we are uncertain what to do or say. He is there to give us the right words to help others in there transformation as well.

Where do you run?
There are some of us that talk to others, some that turn to friends, others that run to the church, pastors and priests and then there are some that are more comfortable bearing their souls to a total stranger, an outsider, a therapist. All are acceptable in a time of needm and we all need to have someone, somewhere that we are able to run in those times in our lives that we are struggling with personal, interpersonal or just stuff that is happening in our lives, We all have to have a refuge that we can bear the hurts, pains and wounds that we carry deep within us that many do not know that they even exist.
As humans we need to have someone that can talk to us and listen, really listen to what we are saying and not judge us by what we are feeling or thinking at that moment. We need to feel safe bearing our souls to someone when we are in need, or have pain deep within us, espicially when it is willing and coming to the surface. At these times it can be hard to see options, or think that anyone has ever been in this place where we sit in the midst of all the pain, and open wounds that are bleeding and we try as we may to cover them but just can't seem to get that bleeding to stop. It is in those moments that we tend to run to others that we trust or look for someone out there in the world that we feel safe with to share all that is within us at that moment. Someone who is willing to explore those thoughts and feelings, or look at the pain and what is happening in another light, someone who is there for us in the time of our need.
We all have these times in our lives, some have more than others, but we all go through tough and trying times in life. As Christians we have the ultimate comfortator there willing and want to help if we just reach out to him. As a Christian we have Jesus there at our calling, we can reach up to heaven and have Him come down to us and hold us in a time of need, He is there listening, and won't judge you for what you are feeling. He is there to wipe away all the tears, and will always be near. His love is never ending and he is always awake so it doesn't matter if it is 2 in the afternoon or four o'clock in the morning. Jesus does not sleep, and never see's his children as a bother or a problem. He is there waiting for you to call out to Him.
Yet, sometimes we reach out and still feel that we need more, that we need a human here on earth to talk to, it is then that we run to the church. We turn to the priest, a pastor, a leader in the church. We seek out someone that will understand what we are going through and can help us see God is there with us in the middle of the storm that we are in at the moment. We reach out and see that there is love here for us in the church, that God's love is all around us in the church. That the priest have a true heart for the people and that when we are hurting, they too feel the pain that we bear in our souls. They see us and love us as their family, so when we hide all our pain and hurts, it is then that we are hurtung our spiritual leaders as well. They are there for the church, but more importantly they are there for the people. They truly care for us as the members of the church. They love and care for us as their family, and want us to call them in the times of need, and not to run and hide in the back of the church or the fake smile on Sunday morning. I am sure they don't want us calling them at 3am, unless it is an emergency, but knowing several pastors and priests over the years, I know they want us to call them in the am if we need to talk and are struggling with finding or seeing God work in us, through us or simply knowing that God is still there and has not walked away from us when we are in need, pain and misery.
They are there to walk with us, guide us and help us walk with the heavenly father. The priest / pastors are there reaching out and asking that we call then when our faith is weak, and we are climbing out of the lowly pit that we may be in and can't seem to be able to grasp that rock to pull ourselves up off the floor. They are there reaching their hand down, saying grab ahold, I am here to help you my child. I am here to pray with you, show you the Father in heaven and be a shoulder you can cry on without any judgement or shame. Call me and I will help you, I am here for you always, just like the Father in heaven. Reach out in the times of need and you will see the love of the heavenly father reaching to you through others and through your priest / pastor of the church.

Who are you?
Who are you, what do you protray you are to the world. Are you 5 seperate people, one you show at work, one that you show to your friends, then one at home, one in the community and one at church. What do you put on as you walk out the door, who are you at that moment in time. Are you a parent, lover, christian, or do you associate yourself with your job. What truly defines who you are in this workl?
As Christians, those who love God, and follow him, we are to be wearing our Christian uniform at all times. There are many who clain to be Christian, followers of Christ, yet their actions say otherwise. So what is a Christian, a follower of Jesus, one who walks and talks with the Lord. They communicate with God through prayer, and listen to the heavenly Father while they are in prayer. They attend church, not because they have too, but rather it is a joy because it is a wonderful thing to come to the house of the Lord, and to sit in His presence. They are there when there is a need for prayer, they love with the love of Christ. They put their faith and trust in the heavenly Father.
We are to be different in the world, we are not to be of this world while we are here. This is not our true home, because the Father in heaven has a place saved for us if we talk and follow Him, a true relationship with Jesus. We are to be like aliens here because our home is in heaven. We are to show the love of Christ to all who come into our lives, if it for a moment or years. We are to be there to show them the love and compassion of Christ, so that they may come to know the Father through us. I have heard it said that we only love the heavenly Father as much as we love those who annoy us, bother us, or those that we just cannot stand to be around. It could be the pan handler in the park that begs for money because he is hungry or the lady that we work with that just gets under our skin. Yet, what we do to the least of these we do unto our heaven Father. We are there to minister to them, to ask God to give us the words, tolerance and ability to show them the love of Christ daily.
We have the love of Jesus and of the Father not because we are the selected few, but rather we have that love to show and bring others to the Lord. We are to be there in their times of need and times of joy. We are to love them when they seem unlovable, and that love may save them from doing something to hurt themselves or others. We may be able to reach them in their hurt, or lonelyness, by reaching out them them with a simple phone call or touch. It may be all they need to make it thorugh the day.
We are here to show the world the love of the father to all that we come in contact with in our daily lives, All deserve to be treated with the love of Christ and find the love of the Father. We are to keep that christian uniform on through all our roles not just when it is convient at church Sunday morning.

Dying and Heaven
When some of my residents die it is totally different then others, being in the fact that they are of the religious order. They are declared as professional religious, meaning that they are nuns or priests. They look and perceive death very differently then those of us who are lay persons. They see death as a reward as they look forward to Heaven and all that it holds for them. I can say that I have seen many beautiful souls go to Heaven in the last year, with one dear soul that just departed from us very recently. She will be greatly rewarded for all her work here on Earth.
The nuns and priest do not fear death, rather they often embrace it. They see it as a reward for all that they have done here to serve their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They look forward to going home to see Jesus and receive from Him their true and ultimate reward as it states in Matthew 5: 12 (NIV) "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." The nuns and priest have this reward to look forward because of what they have done to forward the gospel, and the life that they have chose to live for Him as it states in Mark 8:34 "Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." They have given their entire lives to following Jesus. They have put away all other gods, and only serve the one true God as they are directed to in 1 Sam. 24:14 (NIV) "Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD."
In Philippians 1:21 (NIV) "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." They know they will be rewarded for their works here on Earth. They understand that by living for Christ here on Earth that she will now reside with Jesus in Heaven and that is a gain. She is now with her true Savior. Thus death for them is not bad, or a sad time rather it is a a good thing if you are in Christ Jesus. It is exciting to know that all our hard work here on Earth will be rewarded when we get to Heaven, since we are there for an eternity Matthew 5:12 (NIV) "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." They are excited to go to heaven because of what it states in Luke 6:23 (NIV) "Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven."
They understand that God will be faithful to them since they have walked in His ways and have followed his narrow path for their lives. As it states in Psalms 108:4 (NIV)" For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies." They are graceful for His continued faithfulness to them and they continue to walk and believe in God no matter what happens to them as they travel that path. They know that God will always come through on the promises that were made to them. Psalms 145:13 (NIV) states "Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made." They long to hear the words of the Father when He states "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:21 (NIV).
The nuns and priest are able to understand that they will be taken care of by the Father in this life, that their needs will be met. As Philippians 4:19 (NIV) states "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." They do not fret over daily things because they are able to trust in the Lord completely. They know that God will take care of them and their needs without a shadow of a doubt. Psalms 33:21 says "In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name." then in Psalms 62:8 (NIV) it states "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah" Therefore if pour our hearts out to God and put our trust and fatih in Him, He will respond to us. God is there for us, it is stated that "I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." in Psalms 91:2 (NIV).
By their faith, and knowledge of who God is and their constant companionship with the Father, they do not fear what is to come but rather embrace it and look forward to meeting the one that they have devoted their lives to following. We too are entitle to all of this and more by following Jesus and walking with him daily. We do not have to fear death, we can have the same confidence that they have in their soul, by following the Lord daily. By walking with him and having fellowship with him in prayer, singing and meeting with other Christians on a regular bases.

They are graceful for His continued faithfulness to them and they continue to walk and believe in God no matter what happens to them as they travel that path. They know that God will always come through on the promises that were made to them. Psalms 145:13 (NIV) states "Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made." They long to hear the words of the Father when He states "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:21 (NIV).
The nuns and priest are able to understand that they will be taken care of by the Father in this life, that their needs will be met. As Philippians 4:19 (NIV) states "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." They do not fret over daily things because they are able to trust in the Lord completely. They know that God will take care of them and their needs without a shadow of a doubt. Psalms 33:21 says "In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name." then in Psalms 62:8 (NIV) it states "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah" Therefore if pour our hearts out to God and put our trust and fatih in Him, He will respond to us. God is there for us, it is stated that "I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." in Psalms 91:2 (NIV).
By their faith, and knowledge of who God is and their constant companionship with the Father, they do not fear what is to come but rather embrace it and look forward to meeting the one that they have devoted their lives to following. We too are entitle to all of this and more by following Jesus and walking with him daily. We do not have to fear death, we can have the same confidence that they have in their soul, by following the Lord daily. By walking with him and having fellowship with him in prayer, singing and meeting with other Christians on a regular bases.
