Have you ever noticed that all the notes on the page seem to form a melody that in turn creates a song. A beautiful composition of music that seems to ful flow from the instruments that it is being played on. There is moment when the notes on the page, the instruments come together and a magic happens, a song is formed. One can notice, even if they haven't heard the some prior if one person in the melody is out of tune. They can notice if something is off, that the song or melody is not flowing right, the wrong key or the wrong beat is being played somewhere in the midst of the meloday.
There is an amazing melody that surrounds all of us, the song that we play, one that reflects our life. A song that we live out in our daily lives. What melody are we playing and what is surrounding us in our daily lives. Is it a melody that moves people to want to be with you, near you. Is it a catchy tune, one that is pleasing to the ear or is something that makes others want to run from what is being played.
The song that is coming out from us resides in our hearts. There is a rhythm, a melody, a beat, and it bleands into the other songs that are being played around us. There is a beat that flows amoung all of us that keeps the song playing. When all are in tune it is simply amazing and comforting.
This song that is in our hearts is one that we are given by the Father in Heaven. It is a song of love, comfort, care, truth, grace, mercy, compassion, and all these things along with many more grow as we grow in God. All these things are there in our lives because we know God and who he is , and that he wants to commune with us on a daily baisis. It is in this relationship with God that our melody grows, and changes ever so slightly as we walk along the path with the Father. We are able to play our song proudly, knowing that we are loved and that God truly care for us, that He is always there and will never leave us or forsake us once we come into that realtionship with God and know our heavenly Father.
We are all in instrument of God here on earth, we all play a tune that resides there in our hearts. We play out this tune and others hear the melody and make the chioce to play their tune with you or find that you are out of tune. That your heart, ministry, life or other issues that you have are interfering with the melody, and keeping you from God. God is there waiting to put you back in tune with Him. He longs to have that close relationships with you. That he truly wants us to commune with Him! That His love is there and he will not walk way from you in the times of trouble. He is there tuning your melody making it so beautiful that others will hear it. That song in us, that melody of out lives is always there, the question is are we in tune with the song.

Commitment.....
One of the things that I have noticed in today's society is the fear of commitment. It can to be to one person ie Marriage, or to a job, cause there is always something out there that has greener grass then where we currently working, it can be as simple as a commitment to attend church weekly, let alone to God. So what is commitment? A big part of commitment is the area of Trust! Trust is the assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. As a society we seem to have a lot of issues with Commitment and with Trust!
God, calls us to commit to him early on, he asks that we fear Him, walk in his ways, Love Him and serve Him with our whole being! We are to follow after God and His ways in all that we do and pursue in this life. This simple ask of following the Lord, is something that is reinforced throughout scripture. He calls us to walk in His ways, and hold fast to Him in all that we do inside the church and in the community. He wants us to be with Him and talk to Him as we progress throughout our days.
Following God is a commitiment that he calls us too, yet with our free will we have the ability to look the other way and go about our lives without God! It breaks His heart when we suffer, hurt or are in true anguish and we ignore Him. God is there waiting to help you and reach out to you, if you just utter the words "God help me!" Yet, will allow us to mosey through and do our own thing, along with allowing us to turn away from him, yet He always welcomes us home with open arms when we do return. He runs to us with open arms saying in a soft voice "Welcome home Child, I love you and missed you so, let me heal and comfort your wounded heart!" What powerful words from the heavenly Father. No only does His love shine forth upon us, but he has forgiven all that we had done and never brings up the past to us, all is now in the sea of the lost and is forever forgotten.
Once we start upon the road of commitment to God, we may see changes, we desire and hunger for God's word. We often seek to run to Him and seek him in times of need and sorrow along with times of joy. We long to be in His holy presence if it is in a church or in your own home. God is there with you no matter where you are the structure does not limit God's interaction with his children. God has a desire to be there with you, he longs to hear your prayers, praise and worship, and for you to come into His Holy presence. All of this is done and achievable by a simple commitment to God. Once we commit we are His Children and nothing can ever take us away from the love of our Heavenly Father.

Where are you God?
It would seem that there comes a time in all of our lives when something happens to us or our loved ones and we begin to question God! Or we tend to question God why are you doing these things to me? What happened , how did I make you so mad at me that now all these bad things are happening to me or my family. God Why? Where are you and why am I standing here alone, like Job, why oh Lord did you walk away from me? It is often hard to understand why things happen to us, why did he lose his job, will we lose our home? It is in this time that God is calling us to His side, He is there with open arms asking His child to run to Him in this time of suffering.
I have heard them say I can't go to God now, He wouldn't want to talk to me if He knows all that I have done. He would laugh and shoo me away from him, even go as far as call themselves a evil doer! They state that God is too Good and that they are so terrible in the eyes of God that they would not be forgiven or God wouldn't have the heart to listen to a word that they speak, yet in the same breath you hear the words, if he cared then why didn't he answer that prayer. When asked they state that there was a silent prayer that went unanswered, or God did not do what they asked for so therefore he does not care for them or Love them.
It is then that one begins to wonder, yes God is there but not all things that we want are ever given to us if so all parents would have a money tree in the yard and no bad things would ever happen, because we could always afford what was happening or about to happen. Yet, God id there, He hears your prayer, but maybe He also hear what the individual that you prayed for their prayer as well. Maybe He granted there request to go home to Him and no longer suffer on the earth. Maybe God talked to them and told them that it was ok to come home now, it is time.
God is bigger then all that you have done in this life, He is able and willing to forgive you if you just ask Him. He listens to you and has a devine Love and Heart for you. You are His child and He is your Father in Heaven. He will never, ever leave you alone, He won't forsake you either. Thus God is there in the midst of all your troubles and tears, fears and anxieties. He sees your pain and counts your tears and wants to be there to hold you in His hand is we allow His comfort and care to come to us. God is there, if we are willing to say God , I need you now, come and help me please! He comes and will not turn away from you. We may not understand all the things that are happening, but all things happen in His timing, in His plan. All things have a purpose and a season. We may not understand at the moment, but in time if we ask God to reveal to us something He will and maybe all God wants from us is closeness.
God wants us to be close to Him! He wants us to draw unto him in times of need, trouble and sorrow. He wants to be there to celebrate your victories and joyous moments as well. God longs to commune with His Children! Yet, He will sit or stand aside and let us do as we please and not be an overpowering God, forcing us to worship, pray, or talk to Him. Rather, He is a loving Father that is there saying, Child come to me, I am here. Talk to me and I will talk to you, I will help you and comfort you, I want to know you my child, come to me and let me help you along this path of live. To think God is there in a second when we call Him, when we pray He is there, ready to listen no matter what is going on in the world around you, He comes because He is a loving Father who wants to help His Children, we are all His Children. Take the time to come to the Father and find all that you long for in His arms!

Security Blankets and God!
It is the middle of the summer and it is so hot here in Chicago I am pretty sure then AC has never shut off. It has been non-stop for the last 3 months, but fall is just around the corner and the cool weather is lurking there in the shadows. Yet, I know some people, relatives, friends, patients that even if it is 90 outside or hotter and they lay down for a nap they have to have a blanket on them at all times. Not that it is cold or cool in the Nursing home by any means or cool in their own home but there is a sense of comfort there when they lay down with a blanket covering them. This may stem from our childhood where when our mom put us all down for a nap she would kiss us, and cover us up with our blanket or one in our room. Thus there is a true sense of security if we are going to sleep we have our blanket and then we can rest peacefully.
Yet, we are able to travel this road of life without the sense of security with the Heavenly Father, who love us and cares for us beyond our own comprehension. We attend church on Sundays and sometimes during the week if we are able too if there are not too many family obligation or other things going on in our lives. We will wonder in and seek the security and peace of God for the week, walk out the door and loose it all by the time we are out of the church parking lot.
What about the God covering, and His sense of peace and security in our lives. What if we knew that He was there with a calling of His name, or a simple prayer that stated "God, I need you now" He would come and be there at your side and walk with you, talk with you and give you that peace in heart when you are troubled, scared, or just need comfort at that moment in time. Rather we are so busy we rush through the day, doing our daily chores and things that we need to get done and never think of asking God for help when we are down. We call a friend, talk to the radio, the TV, but not to the living, breathing Heavenly Father who is just waiting for you to ask Him to assist you, Waiting to comfort you and hold you, be with you in all times, joyous and sorrow. He is there with you and you don't realize that He want to help and love you if you allow Him to be a part of your daily life.
I can hear the rebuttal in my head already, I am so busy I don't have time for my self and now God want to take time from my day. I am too busy, I will talk to him on Sunday! We are good Christians we attend church weekly, the kids go to Sunday School and to youth on Wednesday Nights that is enough to get us through. We have God here, but in reality where is God, is he sitting at the table like the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about, or did we shove Him on the Shelf where the dust is collecting in a nice pattern. Where is God, is He there with you at your convience when you need Him at that second, or is he communing with you on a daily basis. Is he there telling you it's ok He is in control, or are you telling Him that this is what you want, and He needs to fix it for you? God is so close yet so far away, we want Him on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other times that we walk in to the church doors and yet by the time we drive away we have left him sitting there at the edge of the parking lot and we wonder why we don't feel him close to us.
Yet, he is there waiting to cover you with His forgiveness, His love, His security, His Grace, His peace and all that you could ever ask for is in His reach. Yet we are afraid or too busy to take 10 minute out of our busy lives to find God and talk to Him on a daily basis. But if a crisis arises we are the first ones to ask why, how, what happened Lord, why me, where are you and I need you now! Yet, He was there all along waiting for you to cry out to Him so he can shower you with His love, comfort and peace or whatever your heart needs at the moment. It only takes 10 minutes a day to become close to the Heavenly Father, and then you will see how much He does care and love you, then your security is there and His heavenly Covering will follow, along with His peace.

The Addiction?
The is a line out there that says " religion in in large doses is addictive". What a statement with so many implications, there could be many, many blogs or writings on this one topic. What would happen to society if Religion became addictive? What if God caught on once again like it was in the early church or in early societies; where we taught our children the Bible, and the morals that come with being Christian. If God caught on in your home and in your family would it become an addiction.
If the family or you started going to church once a week to hear what God has to say, listening too his word weekly and seeing if it starts to change you and the way that you think. Would church make that much impact on your life that you started to change. Is that change a bad thing? Can God really change you, make you whole, give you a peace that you have never felt before? Is this God real, how does one find out; by seeking out God and seeing him face to face.
What if Spiritual Guidance could help you along the path of life, help in creating one whole, Allowing you to find inner peace, love and tranquility that can be found in no other place other then in God's Hands. In a place where you are comforted, loved, at peace and feel that you are truly home in your Father's house. A peace and love that cannot be experienced unless you are in the arms of the Holy Father. Yes, then religion and God could become addictive.
Your soul or inner being would long to be with the Father, in His arms, where you are safe and feel that ultimate love and peace that no one can ever take away from you. A place where you are free to express your feeling and know that you are understood in prayer. A place where you can sing praises and know that your voice is lovely and the most beautiful one in the bunch, because God loves to hear you sing to Him. A place where you run to in times of emotional trouble because there are peace in God's hands. A place where one finds comfort in the Word of God when they are troubled, and hurting; where peace and divine comfort comes to you as you talk to the Heavenly Father.
What would happen to you if God became addictive? Would you finally find the peace and comfort that you are seeking. Would old wounds finally heal and you find peace in your soul. If religion and God is addictive, then it is a good addiction and one that more people need to find in the world,

Religion and God
There is a line in "The Good Wife" that struck me to the point that we backed up live t.v. to hear it once again, to ensure that I did indeed hear it correctly. It was when the one character stated " Religion is like a drug in small doses it is curitive in large doses it's addictive." What a powerful statement that rings true for so many Christians. It is something that is out there in all types of religiojns, if you are Catholic or Pentacostal or anywhere in the middle. It is one of those statements that makje you stop and think; are you getting God in small doses when it is convienent for you or are you fulling embracing God for all that he is and making Him the center of your life.
God is one of those subjects that is so taboo in today's society. It is one of those topics that is held sacred to some and to others it is something that they have to do every Sunday. Religion is not about the service, it is not about the movements that we go through during worship. It is not about the words and how we say them in church. It is not about the specific prays that we say that is so different from church to church.
Religion is so much more, yet is the same no matter what church you attend. It is all about the same Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a guide to show us how to be Christ like. Yes, they are different but the message from church to church is the same. The ultimate message is that of knowing the heavenly Father. It is all about spening time in God's word, prayer, and worship. They all stress that we are to spend time with God outside of mass. That we are to spend time walking with Him daily, talking to Him and listening to Him. These simple things are to be done when we are in church, but also when we are home and in society as well.
It is about having a place (Church) to go to show our appriciation for God, to give him all that He truly deserves as our Heavely Father. It is about a place of spiritual guidance. Where you turn in times of need or trouble; a place where one feels safe to share what is on their heart and in their soul. A priest or pastor of the Word of God is vital to Chrisitians in todays world. There are so many things that come up agiast us that we as Christians struggle with. By having a man of God available to help lighten the load, let you know God is still there and that not only does God care but so does the preiest / pastor. They are there to help you gain strenght in the word of God, to help in building your faith in the Father. They can provide you with the tools and help show you that there is hope and the sun is burning bright on the other side of the darkness that seems to be over you at the times of need and trouble. The priest / pastor is a wonderful resource that God has provided us with to help guide us in Spiritual things and show us that His love does not stop because we are going through a rough spell.
Priests and pastors are there all the time, basking in the word, taking in God's presence, when we are off living our daily lifes. They are taking the time to study, meditate and learn more and more about the Heavenly Father, so that in time of need, they are able to guide you back to God or show you that God's presence is still around you. The priest and pastors are there to pray for you. with you and help guide you in prayers to enhance the healing that you may need at the moment. It doesn't mean that only if I am sick I seek out the church, but rather if you are sad, lonely, hurting, emotionally strained, physical hurts they are there to help you deal with all things to make you whole in Christ. They will give you guidelines for prayer, scripture readings and show you the hope and peace is attainable right where you are now, that they sunlight is coming if you are willing to keep going with God!
It is amazing to think that spending time with God in small dose is curitive, but curitive of what? Does it give you a false sense of help or of relieve that last for a short time, or do you dive into Religion and see what really happens when you stop and let God take the control. What happens it becomes addictive, or is it that you find something that you have been searching for all along, maybe peace in your soul. That the truth of the Word of God is real, and it has the power and the ability to change a soul and make someone see that there is so much more to religion then just the motions. Rather there is s true loving, God that is there on the sideline waiting for you to talk His hand and walk with Him.
